I thought of a couple of other older Mixtapes that were really good from the 90's era. One called VIDEO SCREAMS and another called VIDEO SCRAMBLE. Quick rundowns...
VIDEO SCREAMS - First mix tape I ever bought. I got it at Chiller Theater in 1996 because it had the STREET TRASH super 8 short on it. It also had tons of great trailers including the (at that time) very hard to find MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY trailer with that great opening warning. the Mario Buaino short film CARUNCULA was on there, a mash up of footage from NEKROMANTIK set to Alice Cooper's I LOVE THE DEAD, some fucked up cartoons which I am not remembering. Penn and Tellers how to make home movies better for $109 with Lydia Lunch. A Shitload of really horrible auto racing accidents, some replayed in slow motion so you see people's limps and heads cleaved off by the crashing cars. That insane off road race in Europe (help me guys here, what is it called) where innocent bystanders who are too close to the road just get run over or crashed into and the cars just back up and keep going (a lot of this footage) and a Japanese mondo styled TV show called GIVE ME A BREAK (no Nell Carter) that focuses on plane crashes, assassinations, the challenger tragedy and other world public atrocities. But the hosts seem very peppy about the whole thing. Naturally and distastefully, Budd Dwyer makes his final appearance (soon I would find out his suicide is on ALL these damn things from this era).
VIDEOSCRAMBLE is more insane. From Baltimore it is much more mondo oriented with clips from the Unarians, old TV commercials, fucked up Christian TV shows, some REALLY nasty poop play, a fat, disgusting S+M dominatrix punishing the shit out of a female slave doing things like blowing some painful looking darts into her ass like it is a dartboard or humiliating this really old dude. the infamous Crispin Glover on David Letterman makes an appearance here and for years this was the only place you could see it. This one is long, almost two hours.
